All this indicate that now is the best time for the interview with this prodigy, to learn more about his past, present and future.
Hey David, how are you? Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
I’m 19 years old and I’m currently living in a town called Uppsala in Sweden.
How long are you producing dance music?
I have been producing electronic music for 7 years now. Before that, I’ve been making indie/ pop music and playing classical music.
Do you have any musical background, or did you had to have learnt everything from scratch?
I have a musical background. Many of my family members have been working with music. And I’ve been playing the piano since I was 6 years old, but felt that I wanted to do something different.
When did you decide, that you want to do dance music on a professional level?
I think the key moment was when I saw Steve Angello playing at Size In The Park in Stockholm. That was an inspiring moment for me, and I knew 100% that this is what I want to do.
How do you produce your music? Are you more software or hardware guy?
I produce music with Ableton live 9. Besides that, I use my piano and the guitar.
In your opinion, what was the key moment which did help you get attention from both fans and fellow producers?
I think it was when I made my ‘Chameleon’ bootleg. That was a new start for me. New sound and new energy.
Last year you've released 'Opia' on Marcus Schossow's label Code Red. What it's like to work with such a person as Marcus is? Did he give you some advices?
Marcus is an amazing guy. We have had a contact for a couple of years now, talking about my music. I met him two months ago, talking about music and life. The best advice he gave me was that I should make music that I love.
Your latest track 'Alone' just came out on Sebjak's label Bibliothèque Records. Can you tell us more about this record?
This is a very special track for me. I felt really inspired at the time, recorded some ideas on my phone. I used parts that I recorded as a vocal in the track. I think that track represent me and my sound in a good way.
This spring you also released two bootlegs, 'Chameleon' and 'Hey Hey'. Did you have any special reasons to choose these two specific records?
I had no idea behind it. It was very random actually. Just wanted to test some new ideas, and I think the two tracks were the perfect tracks to combine my ideas with.
With whom would be your dream collaboration?
Do you have any other hobbies besides music?
Yes, I work as a personal trainer besides music. So I would say that training is a hobby of mine.
What can we expect from you in the near future?
I really can’t say so much. The only thing I can say is that me and my manager Andrew have been working really hard this year and we have some big stuff coming up this and next year! So I am really excited for the future.
