Almost three weeks ago, KIDS Records have welcomed another member in the family. Her name is Ela Van Wolf, an international 20-year-old upcoming electronic music producer & DJ. Ela has had numerous shows around Europe, with several of them being very significant to her career. The young artist has performed at Exit festival’s Dance Arena Stage, where she played alongside Faithless, Robin Schulz, & Duke Dumont. Ela has had as well two other exceptional shows at the famous Zrce beach club, Papaya, which is ranked number 9th by DJ Mag’s Top 100 clubs. Above all, she’s building her name as a creator and producer with her first release ‘Break It Down’ which has received outstanding recognition from big names like Ummet Ozcan, Cosmic Gate, Lumberjack, Vee Brondi, and more.

We have asked her some questions about her approach to the music industry and the release.

KIDS Records is back for another massive release by Ela Van Wolf called “Sundance.”

When did you start producing and why this genre? Have you experimented something different in your production career?

My music career started out spontaneously, as a hobby at first.

My interest appeared in the summer of 2013 when I saw and met Fedde le Grand and Axwell. Slowly after that summer, I got into Deejaying and after a short while, I started to work on music production, because I felt I couldn’t be a complete artist without creating my own music. Although, since I was very young I have always been surrounded by all kinds of music and genres.

I never chose a genre I just followed my feelings. I definitely think it’s a gift to know how to follow your instinct. A person is rich when they can feel!

Yes! I find that one authentic artist has to be open-minded to experimenting with new and fresh ideas. The best is to do what you feel is right. I think that as long as you have that fire within yourself something interesting can evolve.

You're a female DJ and producer who has played in front of relevant crowd. How is the approach with the people who works behind the events? Is it difficult to stay in such a "masculine" environment?

By far, all the people I have cooperated with when it comes to events have been very professional and serious towards their job.

I mean, I’m a little different when it comes to this subject about “masculine” environments because I’ve always been tomboyish. Ever since I was little I’ve been playing sports that are more masculine, therefore I have always been in the company of boys more than girls so the approach between me and boys is always brother like.

In my opinion, it’s all in the attitude! It’s a gift when a woman is born with a strong personality.

What's the idea behind the track and how does it feel to help people with your music?

The idea behind the track was to send positive and cheerful vibes, which in my opinion is why the tune fits perfectly on KIDS. Innocence and pureness are what children are, so merging a positive track with a positive cause is beautiful.

I’m super happy that I had a chance to release something I created on KIDS.

Do you have something in the making for the future?

Yes, works in progress.

Music is love and energy. That love and energy unites all people around the globe because in music, barriers don’t exist. – Ela Van Wolf

Returning to talk about the release, “Sundance” is a chill-groovy and almost summer track you will love. It features a super relaxin breakdown, with organic and natural sounds mixed perfectly to an amazing melody. On top, you can hear children voices perfectly rhythm with the whole track. The drop is an explosion of positive energy and happy vibes. Miami Music Week is almost at the door and this track could be the perfect soundtrack for your Miami experience!

Ela could not choose a better name for the track. Image to dance with the record on the beach while the sun slowly goes down and the sky turns to red and orange shades.
