Let’s Talk About: Jenia (Label X special)

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There’s plenty to say about Jenia. After releasing many successful tracks together with his homie Mr. Styles, the duo decided to split (our interview with the duo). Jenia then decided to start releasing a new kind of music, bringing back epic progressive melodies. First up, would you please introduce yourself to our readers?” open=”true”]Hello, my name is Jenia. I am from Russia but was born in Cyprus.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”When did you start your career as a music producer, and what brought you to do that?” open=”true”]I started 6 years ago for fun, and for the last three years, it’s been more of a habit. I wanted to make my ideas a reality.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Which artists influenced you the most?” open=”true”]Some of my influences are Steve Angello, Paul Kalkbrenner, Moby and The Chemical Brothers, to name a few.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”You launched your label “X” a few days ago: what is the aim of this label? I mean, there are plenty of indie labels, but few have their own identity. So, what can we expect?” open=”true”]I launched Label X with my good friend Phillip Ora from Los Angeles. He is the co-founder & the label director. We’ve been discussing music in general for the last two years and shared our thoughts on how our label would be. We are not slaves to a genre. We want to release just good music. Our upcoming releases will reflect that & identity will come naturally.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How is the label organized? ” open=”true”]It’s a team of 5 people, each one is responsible for their tasks. We are constantly brainstorming to keep it fresh.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”You split from Mr. Styles a few months ago, despite that he’s part of “X”, so I suppose you’re still friends: did you split because of different artistic views?” open=”true”]“X will be X”, haha. Yes, we are still friends and yes, we’ve split because of different artistic views and musical direction (about the track).

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman premiered two new tracks from you: can you tell us more about them?” open=”true”]‘Promises’ is a euphoric melodic mainstage track has been made the last summer-autumn, it’s coming out later this spring. The second track that Dimitri & Wyman premiered is ‘Midnight’, which is my favorite. This track was done in one day and goosebumps never lie, it’s on repeat. Coming later this month on Label X.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”You moved from producing Groove to Progressive House: a lot of people say that 2018 will be the year of the comeback for this genre. Personally, I think that we must move forward from 2014-sounding big room prog. What are your thoughts?” open=”true”]In my heart, I’ve been always a progressive house guy. I believe this year progressive house is coming with a new twist. Recently I have seen so many tweets from different artists stating that they miss progressive, and it’s coming back. We’ll see.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What kind of gear do you use in your studio?” open=”true”]MacBook Pro 13-inch (2017), Logic X, Sennheiser HD 25-1 II, Focusrite Audio Interface.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Whom would be your dream collab with? ” open=”true”]I haven’t thought about it actually but I wouldn’t mind making a collaboration with Dirty South. Yeah, it’s a dream collaboration actually![/vc_toggle][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
