Teamworx Interview Amsterdam Dance Event

Let’s talk about Teamworx

It’s been more than a month since ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) but we have a lot of materials to publish yet. Today is the turn of our interview with the Israelian DJ and Producer Teamworx recorded during the Protocol 5 years Anniversary.

Teamworx has released a lot of amazing tunes in the past years including release on Spinnin’, Protocol, SIZE, Fonk and more. Their collab with Tom Swoon, “Atom,” was played almost on every big festival stage.

We have asked them about their creative process, new music and a lot more.

How has been your summer in this year?

It was crazy. We’ve been at Guaba, Cyprus. It’s very big club at Cyprus. We performed there with W&W. It was a very dope night.

A few weeks back you've released your track with Nicky Romero 'Champions Sound' on his label. Can you tell us more about the creative process behind this track?

We have the first demo where we finished the build-ups and the drops and we thought about to send it to Nicky, because ‘Around The World’ was a track that Nicky really likes, and ‘Champion Sound’ was similar, so we just sent it to Jorik. After half a day, we’ve seen on our iPhones getting a text from Nicky Romero and we’ve been just like ‘what?’. Nicky asked us if we would like to finish the track with him and after two months it came out.

Besides 'Champion Sound' you already had big releases on the Protocol. What is like to work with Nicky and his label. Did he give you some advices?

We didn’t have so much time for generally talking about music and stuff because Nicky is a very busy man. But we hope in the future we’ll have some quality time in the studio with Nicky. We had sessions on skype when we worked on ‘Champion Sound’ and Nicky really helped us to figure out what to do with the mixes and helped us to add some more good elements.

You've also released your collab with Thomas Feelman and STV 'Never Stop'. Can you tell us more about this record?

We finished this track one and a half year before. We did the drop and then we thought about Feelman to collaborate because we really like his music, he has great touch. And he made with STV great breakdown, in sounds of old EDM-ish stuff like Michal Calfan. We really like this melody. Then we started building this melody on top of our drop. This is the old story. We were supposed to make the drop to work with Feelman break and it took a while and after that, we were very satisfied with the result.

What do you guys think about ADE? Why is this event so important for dance music in general?

First, to see all artist we are work with. It gives us much more experience to see the industry from another perspective. We see all the bookers, club owners. Everyone is getting here for one week and it’s very nice to see all the guys you used to talking on the phones with them or maybe doing Skype sessions, and you see them live, it makes the contact more tight, more strong.

What are you planning for the rest of this year and beyond?

To be honest, our main subject is to deliver as long as the tracks are cool. We want to spend more time in the studio. Make more tracks. That’s it.

While we are writing this interview on Teamworx’sinstagram stories there are some videos with a brand new track almost ready to deploy so, stay tuned for new Teamworx’s music.

Thanks a lot to Teamworx, their management and of course, Protocol for letting us interview them. Can’t wait to listen what’s coming next
