Matt Manser debuts on BonFire with 2-track ‘Absence/Selenite’

The combination between ethereal arpeggios, divine but at the same time, fragile melodies, and a beautiful and innocent vocal make the EP a stand-out production

Having dropped his first EP in 2020, Matt Manser kicks off the new year with a 2-track EP Absence/Selenite on stuff to think about, a BonFire Records imprint.

A mix of downtempo and ambient house, that how we can describe the EP. Kicking off with Absence the track describes incredible soundscapes thanks to soft and intimate melodic lines. A clean and minimal main plucked theme fuses itself with an angelic vocal loop; unfolding into a magical and mystical drop, the clean and minimal beat guides you into a deep journey through mysterious places.

On a more complex note, Selenite evolves the sound we have found on the previous tune, adding more cryptic percussive ryhtyhm and a fast and glitched beat on the final part. The combination between ethereal arpeggios, divine but at the same time, fragile melodies, and a beautiful and innocent vocal make Selenite a stand-out production in the EP.

Matt Manser is a DJ and producer from London. With varied influences ranging from Drum & Bass, Techno, Ambient, and his own history of playing the guitar, he seeks to constantly redefine his musical boundaries to create emotive and unique journeys through his music. His current work mixes floating pads, evolving arps and deep baselines to create unique tracks that blend live instruments with electronic sound design.

Absence/Selenite is the perfect example of Manser’s dynamicity as a music producer, able to mix together chill and melodic lines with heavier and elaborated percussions. The two tracks are now available via this link on BonFire imprint, stuff to think about.
