After a massive release with Martin Ikin in the form of Back To Funk, Sammy Porter returns on LoveJuice Records with a catchy new single The Pressure. The fresh delivery is a vocal driven vibe with huge crossover potential, his first commercial independent release outside of his major-label deal.
Coming off the back of his deal with Mistajam’s Speakerbox (Insanity Records | Sony Music UK) imprint, Sammy Porter dips his toes back into the vocal house world. His releases under that label have amassed 10s of millions of streams worldwide, countless radio spins with features from Liv Dawson (Disclosure | Meeting Music), Jessica Agombar (Stellar Songs | Sony ATV), and writing collaborations with Tim Powell (Xenomania | Pet Shop Boys | Kideko).
Pressure leans on the vocal talent of Shannon Saunders, previously featured on Sonny Fodera’s album and dance music writing powerhouse Dee Adams, who has written for the likes of Wilkinson, Lowsteppa, Snakehips, and more, providing an infectiously hooky vocal track, a literal dance anthem.
So excited to see this release see the light of day. I have spent most of the first lockdown working on this production and was quite literally feeling the pressure! I feel people need music now more than ever. – Sammy Porter
The amazing vocal perfectly flows on top of a super catchy bubbling baseline in perfect Sammy Porter’s signature sound. Feeling-good top plucked melodies complete the first drop driving the listener to the chill breakdown that anticipates the second bouncy drop.
