With his four-track EP Water, Scottish producer Tagavaka makes an exciting return to Anjunadeep. Tagavaka has since released on labels such as Apex Faction and Songspire Records, following previous Anjunadeep releases such as ‘Sky‘ on Anjunadeep Explorations 18 and the ‘Extrapolate EP.’
‘Mostraumen,’ by Tagavaka, opens the EP with intricate melodies and dreamy vibes. The downtempo beat and the organic percussions flow through the main theme pairing with the nostalgic vocal vibes. The name comes from the beautiful Norwegian fjords, where the track takes inspiration from. The track delivers a reflective and wistful feeling, that perfectly link with the second record of the EP, Kachemak. It features fluttering arps and a more deep and detailed melodic theme. The childish-inspired vocal loop flows through the dreamy harmonies bringing the listener to a state of well-being.
‘Gray‘ and ‘Pehoé‘ round out the EP, two euphoric electronic tracks that show why Tagavaka has received support from artists such as Adam Port, Eelke Kleijn, and Lane 8. Both use clean and minimal percussive rhythm to drive the record but Gray is more profound and deep while Pehoè injects organic non-stop beats for a happier end.
