2022 marks the return of Veerus on Adam Beyer’s imprint Drumcode with the three-track EP Yard.
Since his debut in 2019 with the Hypnosis EP, Veerus has been one of Drumcode’s most consistent and outstanding contributors. From Awakenings to Cercle, the Italian creates dramatic techno with a strong narrative arc, and his tracks have been favorites of Adam Beyer‘s.
Yard, his fourth Drumcode EP, continues his studio work, fine-tuning his sound and technical approach to share his most heartfelt work to date.
The title track, which featured an enveloping bassline, powerful chords, and atmosphere-building pads, was a stirring weapon when Beyer performed it at the Printworks show in October. With its mix of acid sounds and non-stop and hypnotic heavy beats, Yard is the perfect weapon to turn up the heat on the dancefloor.
Bypass, a laser-kissed gem from Beyer’s Awakening set at ADE week, had fists flying skywards. The mix between the plucked and mysterious arpeggio and the hard yet clean and well-defined percussions make the tune another incredible production from Veerus.
Last but not least, Nobody is Veerus at his most inventive and playful; it’s as much a grandiose composition as it is an effective dance track, and it elicited resounding applause when it was played at Creamfields this summer.
