Production master Alex Metric joined forces once again with rising talent Ten Ven to deliver the stunning “Saudade EP” on Anjunadeep.
Powerhouse pair Alex Metric & Ten Ven are back on Above & Beyond’s label with the “Saudade EP“. It follows their acclaimed debuting Anjunadeep release “Otic“, which saw support from Pete Tong and Annie Mac.
Reinforcing their chemistry as a duo, the “Saudade EP” is a showcase of hard-hitting synths and deft percussive builds.
Opening track “Saudade” is characteristically dark and progressive, favoring staccato synths on a driving bassline. Hard and fast, second cut “What U Need” provides an intense contemporary take on the classic vocal-led anthem; the closing track “Castellar” is the lightest on the release, combining detuned toplines and stuttered mallets suited to sunlit dancefloors.
Danny Howard premiered the EP opening track on his BBC Radio 1. He double-played it on his own radio show Nothing Else Matters, too.
Alex Metric & Ten Ven, at the beginning of this month, played at the famous Printworks London. The performance was recorded and it’s now available as The Anjunadeep Edition 232. Besides the whole EP, the performance’s tracklist contains a bunch of interesting IDs.
