Eagles & Butterflies drops EP ‘Retropolis’ Volume 1

It features Eagles & Butterflies’ latest single of the same name

Eagles & Butterflies, a UK-based artist, has presented their brand-new EP “Retropolis” Volume 1, which has bene released on Gerd Janson’s label Running Back on October 14.

Retropolis,’ a four-track album, kicks off with the affecting and pensive synth jam ‘CS-80,’ which establishes the mood right away. The next tune, “Faster,” is a retro-futurist electro-funk number that sounds like two people falling in love while riding in a bumper car. The following track, “Juno Ninja Piano,” is a party track with wacky synth noises and an energetic piano. The final track is the upbeat, dancefloor-oriented electro-synth jam “Retropolis.” Suitable for big rooms, major moments, minor miracles, and sophisticated car chase scenes alike, it ensures the EP finishes on a high.

Chris Barratt’s music as Eagles & Butterflies can be as jovial as it is melancholy and beautiful. It is known for the unmistakable “Can’t Stop” with Coloray, an unhealthy obsession with vintage music machines, a baroque style in the use of synthesizer melodies, and a forewarn-looking approach to the past. He is an artist who is renowned for persistently pushing the aural limits while defying genre and exhibiting inherent creative aptitude. From early beginnings as Mixmag’s ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’ to the creation of his own label Art Imitating Life, an innate sense of musicality and a unique approach to music making has been at the core. Across a storied career, his output has found its way onto some of dance music’s most revered labels, including Permanent Vacation, Innervisions, and Life & Death. In terms of DJing, he has performed frequently at Fabric, at renowned festivals such as Awakenings, Lost Village, and Coachella, as well as at the DC10 superclub in Ibiza.

Eagles & Butterflies makes his long overdue EP debut on one of the most highly regarded dance imprints out there. On Friday, October 14th, the EP will be made available on vinyl and through all DSPs.
