Family Piknik announces 2022 summer closing with Agents Of Time

Family Piknik will feature Paul Kalkbrenner, the most well-known Techno performer.

After a memorable summer season that included activities three weeks in a row from July 31 to August 14, Family Piknik has reclaimed its title as the biggest underground festival in France. Bringing up on-stage headliners like Charlotte de Witte, Fisher, Richie Hawtin, Whomadewho, Maceo Plex, Danny Tenaglia, Nora en Pure, Kölsch, Joris Voorn and many other top international House & Techno artists on the lineup, Family Piknik already welcomed more than 20.000 party-people over the summer.

The challenge was not easy, though, after Montpellier city hall decided earlier this year to break the convention it had with the festival, brutally ending up with a 10 years of partnership and leading Tom Pooks and his team to find new locations to host his 2022 events. After being completely redesigned by the Family Piknik team, the Lunel arenas and Frontignan open-air park, both of which are 20 minutes south of Montpellier, France, seemed to be fantastic locations. The festival attendees, who came from more than 30 countries, were treated to a great atmosphere and an unforgettable experience thanks to the natural grass that was laid out on the dusted arena floors to maximize comfort, the main stage’s overly pumped flamingo, the crazy performers, and the secondary “secret” stages.

The Family Piknik crew is now concentrating on constructing its sizable Closing party, which will take place on October 1st, as the summer marathon is done. The largest arena in southern France, with a capacity of 12,000, is located in Béziers. After the fantastic closing performance by Boris Brejcha in 2021, Family Piknik will feature Paul Kalkbrenner, the most well-known Techno performer.

We’ve been waiting for 3 years before being able to confirm Paul and we are sure we’ll offer him a good experience. It’s always a thrilling moment for us to close a whole season, especially as it’s been the most stressful and intense we’ve ever known in our history, with 3 restless weeks of hard work for our crew on the ground… I’m sure this closing party will be very emotional for all of us. – Family Piknik’s founder Tom Pooks

Berlin’s superhero will have the opportunity to perform for Family Piknik for the first time. He was the final significant headliner to have been absent from the Family Piknik Hall of Fame for the previous ten years. He will perform a 2-hour live concert for the most spectacular ending performance you can imagine. Thousands of people will be warmed up in the afternoon by the talents of Abstraal & Pontias, Simina Grigoriu, Tom Pooks, and Joy Kitikonti, as well as the Afterlife branded pair Agents of Time, who will perform live before this legacy.

This closing event is already anticipated to be sold out; for more information and to purchase remaining tickets, visit www.familypiknikfestival.com. Tickets start at 35 euros.
