Fines and Agreement between City Officials and Coachella
City of Indio officials confirmed that the fines are part of an agreement with Goldenvoice, the organizer of the festival, and the fines will be added to the city’s General Fund. The agreement, which has been in place since 2013, imposes a daily fine of $20,000 for the first five minutes past curfew, with an additional $1,000 for every minute after that.
Frank Ocean Acknowledges Curfew During Headlining Set
Frank Ocean, who headlined the festival on Sunday, acknowledged the curfew during his performance. He began his show an hour late, at 11 PM, and ended his set with a brief statement, “Guys, I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of the show.”
