The CRSSD Festival will return to San Diego’s Waterfront Park on September 25th and 26th after a long hiatus. The festival’s first phase lineup for the Fall Edition was announced today, featuring more than thirty artists from across the spectrum and history of dance music. In the coming weeks, more names will be revealed.

Since its creation in 2015, CRSSD has sought to highlight dance music’s subversive stars and strains, as well as the burgeoning power of live electronic artists. The festival takes pride in securing rare West Coast performances from iconic artists and giving prime slots to up-and-coming artists. With its grassy lawns, fountains, and magical sunsets, Waterfront Park is an enticing city-center location to lose yourself in the wide variety of tempos and styles on which CRSSD has built its curatorial reputation.

CRSSD Festival Fall '19 Recap

CRSSD Festival 2021 lineup.

The Ocean View main stage at CRSSD will be packed with live acts, including current Grammy winner KAYTRANADA and the mysterious Zhu. Paul Kalkbrenner, a German techno legend, will also perform a live sunset set. Flying Lotus’ jazz-infused electronica will be paired with contemporary boundary-pushers like Boys Noize and Jon Hopkins, while Tiga and Hudson Mohawke will perform the live debut of their rave-inspired LOVE MINUS ZERO project in the United States.

The Palms Stage at CRSSD is where dance music’s roots can be traced, with sets from Detroit legends Carl Craig and Moodymann, as well as East Coast house and club pioneers Mood II Swing, Todd Terry, and the legendary Kerri Chandler. Three of house music’s biggest current underground stars, Hot Since 82, Jamie Jones, and CamelPhat, will headline the Palms. Park Hye Jin, a multi-hyphenate, DJ, producer, and vocalist from South Korea, will also perform on the stage.

On City Steps, techno will be the dominant genre, with Cocoon icon Sven Väth performing a very rare West Coast set, as well as the incendiary ANNA and Paula Temple, Italian Max Kobosil, and Detroit’s Robert Hood. Kölsch, Dennis Ferrer B2B Cassy, Rinse FM tastemaker T.Williams, and South African trumpeter and producer Kareem Ali will all perform house sets.
