Following in the footsteps of New Order, the British diva and the disruptive Iranian-Dutch artist have declared their presence in the Park del Forum and the Ciudad del Rock.

Due to changes in their individual professions, ANYMA and FKA twigs will be unable to perform at the Barcelona and Madrid editions.

Alison Goldfrapp and Sevdaliza are joining the festival on both sites, continuing the magnificent synth path made by New Order, who joined the lineup of Primavera Sound Barcelona – Madrid 2023 just a fortnight ago to play their discography of cross-generational classics. The disruptive Iranian-Dutch musician will make a comeback at Primavera Sound on both Saturdays, while the British diva will debut her latest solo endeavor in the Park del Forum and the Ciudad del Rock on both Thursdays. Regrettably, due to changes in their individual careers, ANYMA and FKA twigs will be unable to perform at the Barcelona and Madrid editions.

In fact, Alison from Goldfrapp is known as Alison Goldfrapp. After more than twenty years at the head of the duo she founded with Will Gregory—a crucial precursor to understanding why Dua Lipa, Jessie Ware, and Rina Sawayama make the music they do today—the Londoner will debut her upcoming first solo album at the festival. For her part, Sevdaliza carries on with her never-ending pursuit of the avant-garde without using any short cuts. She has therefore updated trip-hop and managed to make new R&B sound truly new on albums like Ison and Shabrang, which are exciting and challenging at the same time. She has done this at her own speed, devoting the necessary time to embellishing songs full of intricacies.

Contrarily, Yves Tumor and Japanese Breakfast, who are already on the festival’s main schedule, will add new shows at various venues as part of Primavera a la Ciutat. The former will perform in Barcelona and Madrid, respectively, on the 4th and 7th of June, and the latter will perform in Barcelona, on the 4th of June.

Depeche Mode, Blur, Kendrick Lamar, Rosala, Pet Shop Boys, St. Vincent, Calvin Harris, Le Tigre, Halsey, The Moldy Peaches, and Caroline Polachek were among the approximately 150 artists already on the lineup. There are new reasons to believe that, over the course of two weeks, Madrid and Barcelona will reflect the most thrilling mirror image of modern music during Primavera Sound 2023.
