Ultra Miami RESISTANCE Island 2019 guide: lineup, stages

RESISTANCE, one of the leading techno festival in the world, is back in Miami for Ultra 2019 featuring a huge lineup of techno superstars and more.

Everyone has noticed the growing o the underground scene, now considered almost a mainstream scenario. Festivals and stages are bigger and bigger with incredible light effects and locations. RESISTANCE was one of those to bring the underground movement on the biggest stages around the world. The concept was launched in 2014 and it has been developed since then with new stages, worldwide tours, Ibiza residency and more.

RESISTANCE Ultra Miami 2019 lineup

RESISTANCE Ultra Miami 2019After the Phase 1 announcement of Ultra Miami, it’s now the turn of RESISTANCE. This year will be slightly different because of the change of location from Bayfront Park to Virginia Key. The new space, renamed as RESISTANCE Island will be the heart of techno and underground music during the Miami Music Week.

The megastructure, the heart of Ultra RESISTANCE, will be located in the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and with it, two more stages complete the techno experience. A first look to the new megastructure is now possible thanks to a video posted by Ultra itself. They’ve added an even more complex array of moving ledwall on the top, with not only up and down movement but a complete series of rotation and bending effect on both ledwall and light supports. In short, the system used will be so dynamic you will feel to stay every time in a different stage.

Besides the megastructure, the first stage announced that will be part of the RESISTANCE Island is called The Arrival. The concept comes directly from Burning Man and it has been revisited to fit better with the Island environment. The sand towers are now wood braziers and everything has been scaled to the new tropical-island vibes.

A question still remains unanswered: will the Spider stage return at Ultra? Unfortunately, the answer is now. Ultra, with the release of the Phase 2 lineup has showcased the third stage: Reflector. With its unique shape, Reflector will be an amazing addition to Ultra.

RESISTANCE megastructure will run for the full three days; this means that ASOT stage will be hosted in a different location that, this year, will be the LIVE Arena.

With the megastructure at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, we’re now sure that the mainstage will be located at the Miami Marine Stadium.

Working at the RESISTANCE Island are already started. Below some pics from the festival ground.

RESISTANCE lineup includes Adam Beyer and Cirez D show, Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, Dubfire, Hot Since 82, Joris Voorn, Maceo Plex, Loco Dice, Tale Of Us and tens of other names. Phase 1 and Phase 2 have been dropped. You can check it the full lineup below.

RESISTANCE TIMETABLES SCHEDULE

With the release of Phase 2, we know the schedule divided into the three stages.

Starting with the Megastructure, Friday will see Loco Dice, Adam Beyer and Cirez D show before the big closing with Carl Cox. On Saturday, Carl Cox will still close the megastructure, this time with a special but mysterious b2b set. The same day, Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati will play together preceded by The Martinez Brothers and Hot Since 82. On Sunday, RESISTANCE megastructure will see Charlotte De Witte followed by our favorite Italian duo, Tale Of Us. Sunday schedule is probably the hottest one with, in order, Carl Cox Maceo Plex and Adam Beyer.

Moving on the REFLECTOR stage, RESISTANCE Island will welcome Erick Morillo, Ilario Alicante, Sven Vath and Black Coffee on Friday. On Saturday, PLAYdifferently will host the stage with ANNA, Richie Hawtin and a massive b2b2b between Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna. Sunday will see the turn of Joris Voorn, Sasha, and Testpilot on the closing.

Last but not least, RESISTANCE stage The Arrival will see a housy and techier environment if compared with the other two stages. Starting on Friday with COYU, the hottest day for The Arrival is for sure Saturday. The stage will see Cristoph before the big closing with Camelphat b2b Solardo. Sunday is still a mystery because of the many hidden names.

RESISTANCE Island is set to be the hottest location during the Miami Music Week for the underground music lovers. With its three stages and artists for every taste, the RESISTANCE Island will be for sure another techno paradise in pure Ultra style.

RESISTANCE

The RESISTANCE project was launched in 2014 but was in 2015 it took place worldwide. In 2015, RESISTANCE and Ultra teamed up with Arcadia bringing what would later become a symbol of the festival: Arcadia Spider.

Every RESISTANCE show or festival has its own custom productions regarding stage design, light show, pyro and more.

From that moment, RESISTANCE has toured with Ultra around the world, bringing this insane techno concept to the fourth corner of the Earth. Last Summer, RESISTANCE landed at Privilege Ibiza for an all summer long residency.

At the moment, besides Ultra Miami, RESISTANCE will join Ultra Australia, Ultra South Africa, as well as WE ARE FSTVL.
