Techno living legend and RESISTANCE ambassador Carl Cox will expand his iconic Megastructure; it will take place over all three days of the festival for the first time ever at Bayfront Park. 2020 will be a special year for Carl Cox as he will celebrate 20 years of headlining Ultra Music Festival. Carl Cox will perform three times across the weekend; his own solo set, a world B3B debut alongside house heavyweight Jamie Jones and New York-bred tech-house destroyers The Martinez Brothers, and finally his first-ever American back-to-back appearance with techno architect Maceo Plex.
Expect a lot more from RESISTANCE in 2020 as Amelie Lens will join the party bringing her hard techno into the megastructure. Techno kingpins Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber and Paco Osuna will take the stage for their third annual back-to-back-to-back Ultra Music Festival set.
Not only techno; RESISTANCE will see house music starts and Beatport’s biggest selling act CamelPhat.Solardo will also return to RESISTANCE Miami following their stellar back-to-back from 2019’s festival. English bass-house duo Gorgon City will make their first Ultra appearance since 2015.
How not mention the most talked-about duo in the techno scene, Tale Of Us. The Italian magicians who have already created almost a religion behind their brand Afterlifewill return into the megastructure for what it’s already one the most waited acts of the whole festival.
RESISTANCE’s new talents
Rising talent from around the globe will make their Ultra debuts. They include Dancing Astronaut’s 2019 Breakout Artist of the Year Dom Dolla, Ukranian chart-topping duo ARTBAT, Siberian selector Anfisa Letyago, Carl Cox’s Awesome Soundwave label co-founder Christopher Coe (LIVE), and classically-trained Dutch maestro Reinier Zonneveld (LIVE). German techno expert Butch, French composer POPOF and Spanish tech-house virtuoso Rafa Barrios will return to Ultra Music Festival and round out the RESISTANCE Phase 1 lineup.
A brand new stage: The Cove
Don’t expect an Ultra Miami 2020 with the same layout as the 2018 edition. RESISTANCE will take residence on the northern perimeter of the newly revamped festival layout; RESISTANCE Miami will feature multiple areas, including the debut of The Cove. Dubbed ‘The Cove’ because of its unique waterfront positioning with Biscayne Bay to the east and Biscayne Boulevard to the west, this new stage, nestled perfectly under the palm trees in the heart of downtown Miami, will capture the vibe and spirit of RESISTANCE Island. The Cove will push forward new boundaries of imagination to expand upon the magic and energy that brought three days of underground bliss to tens of thousands of Seekers earlier this year.
