Fresh Island festival in Zrce, Pag, Croatia, got evacuated because of fire

Three-day hip-hop event, Fresh Island in Zrce Beach, Croatia, has been evacuated because a massive fire breaks out near the festival's area

Last night a fire breaks around 1:30 am on the pine forest behind Zrce beach, Croatia, forcing thousands of people to leave the area.

Yesterday was the first day of Fresh Island, a well-known music festival on Pag Island. One of the most popular urban festivals in Europe, Fresh Island has attracted thousands of people on the clubs of the beach yesterday night.

To contain the fire, keep the people safe and help the firefighter roads from and for Novaljia has been locked. Police have escorted buses creating a safe corridor for festival-goers to return home.

The fire was reported to be very close to Kalypso Club because also fed by the strong wind.

The causes of the fire are still uncertain.

Luckily the fire is now extinct. No damage to the clubs nor people being hurt have been reported. Kalypso Club, as well as Fresh Island Festival, have confirmed all the activities scheduled for today and tonight.

GREAT NEWS! 💙🙏🏼🏝 The emergency services have now cleared the fire, reopened the road and deemed the route and Zrce Beach to be safe. Shuttle buses are also running as scheduled from Novalja. We are therefore pleased to confirm that Fresh Island will continue as planned with no further disruptions, starting with *Tim Westwood’s Notorious after beach party at 4pm in Papaya. To ensure your safety when travelling to the festival, please ensure to keep to the roads at all times and not to enter the woodland area affected by last night’s fire. Thanks again for everyone’s patience and we look forward to seeing you on the beach again very soon! *starting at Papaya pool area than switching to Papaya main area
