With a statement released on all his social media, it was reported that DJ and producer i_o, Garrett Falls Lockhart, has passed away on the 23rd of November.
On Monday, November 23rd the world lost a beautiful soul, Garrett Falls Lockhart, also known as i_o. This extrimely talented spirit thaught us that even if nothing matters, you can still lead with love. Garrett’s tuth and soul lives on through the music he shared.
Rest in peace, Garrett. We love you.
No cause of death was given.
Having started his career FAWKES years ago, he gained support and recognition with the alias i_o.
In 2018 he debuted on Deadmau5’s label Mau5trap and a year later he released an incredible collaboration with Tommy Trash Let Me Go.
i_o was one of that incredible “elastic” and dynamic producers, an artist outside of the box with a unique music style you could hear from miles. He was blurring the lines between techno/trance/progressive and bringing a new generation of people into dance music which was great for all.
The loss of such an incredible soul has shocked fans and colleagues around the world. Only some days ago he released his last single, i_o Castle In The Sky. He also performed for Insomniac Escape on Halloween on the 30th of October.
We want to remember such an unbelievable human being with his performance at Creamfields last year, a DJ set that will remain on the history books of the festival.
