Planned for this weekend, the 27th and 28th of June would have seen Awakenings Festival return at Spaarnwoude, Velsen-Zuid, The Netherlands for another exciting edition. Completely sold out in a matter of minutes, the event was one of the most awaited festivals for the techno fans. With names from the lights of Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Maceo Plex, and more Awakenings Festival is considered one of the most important techno festivals of the summer season. Unfortunately with the fast-spreading of the Covid-19 pandemic, even Awakenings had to postpone the festival for the next year but, despite letting fans down with no music for the weekend, the incredible Awakenings team has organized an online weekender.
Starting today from 4:30 PM The Netherlands local time all the way to Sunday at midnight, more than 20 artists will join Gashouder and the Festival ground for a special performance. It will be live-streamed worldwide on Awakenings’ social media letting you enjoy a new techno experience.
During this weekend fans from all over the world can expect a high-tech online experience, free of charge. Awakenings launches a brand new platform in which festival visitors will be able to navigate through an online created festival world, with a smartphone, tablet, PC, or laptop. Fans will have the opportunity to step into a virtual version of the Gashouder, where they will be able to see multiple live sets in an artificial show. The weekend will not only be dominated by new live sets, but also exclusive and interactive interviews with various artists on Friday evening, where fans are able to ask their burning questions to their favorite artist. The three-day festival weekend will offer the visitor a packed schedule with plenty of things to do, see and experience. Apart from the live streams and interviews, visitors can relive last year’s Awakenings Festival, enjoy special effects, look at 3D designs, and listen to 8D technology. During the festival weekend, the visitor has the opportunity to donate to two special projects of the Netherlands Red Cross.
