A powerful remix of Jimi Jules‘ popular song “My City’s On Fire,” which was published on Rose Avenue Records, the label started by RÜFÜS DU SOL, features Grammy Award-winning musician Cassian and Anyma of the renowned melodic-techno combo Tale Of Us.
One of 2022’s biggest dance records originally released on Innervisions and executive produced by Dixon, Anyma and Cassian’s remix is a dynamic and powerful track that combines driving percussion, distorted vocal samples, and a pulsing bassline, while also incorporating subtle melodic elements that add depth and complexity to the overall composition. The two musicians’ exceptional synergy is on full display in this collaboration, which has a sound that is distinctive enough to place each artist individually and unified enough to forge an unheard-of dynamic.
Despite Anyma and Cassian’s hectic tour schedules in 2022, they managed to collaborate on this much-awaited remix, which both performers have recently performed at events all around the world. A natural collaboration, Anyma and Cassian have been fans of one another’s work, with Anyma being a fan of Cassian’s mix engineering work, and original productions, and playing his 2022 single ‘React’ in many of his sets.
This remix began life almost one year ago on the day that Anyma & I first met. After a quick hello we immediately began to work. We quickly created an instrumental track that we both liked but it wasn’t until a few weeks later that we were sent the vocal for ‘My City’s On Fire’. Anyma realized it would fit perfectly with the track we had already made and we put together the remix right away. Cassian, a triple threat as a mixer, producer, and DJ, is considered a singular force in the melodic house and techno realms, with an extensive list of studio credits. When Cassian mixed the song “Alive” from RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s fourth studio album, “Surrender,” he won his first Grammy Award in 2022.
After releasing his critically praised first LP, “LAPS,” in 2020, Cassian released a post-lockdown, two-track club EP, “Reactivate,” and made his Afterlife debut with “Landa” in 2022. With his Coachella debut scheduled for Yuma Stage in 2023, Cassian has taken center stage at prestigious venues like Red Rocks, The Brooklyn Mirage, The Concourse Project, and big festivals like Electric Forest and Life Is Beautiful. With more than a million enthralled listeners each month across numerous platforms, Cassian has a devoted following because to his skill in creating soundscapes and adaptability.
