The tenth installment of Solomun’s legendary Diynamic label’s ‘Picture‘ series, hosted by German producer Johannes Brecht, is out today.
Brecht’s six-track release begins with the enchanting melodic creation ‘Currency,’ an enchanting melodic creation steeped in rich emotion and featuring Australian singer-songwriter Kat Vinter. Next up, ‘No More’ is a vibrant, percussion-heavy club jam punctuated by Cairo-born vocalist Fetsum’s energetic vocals, while ‘Believe In You’ is characterized by jazz-inspired drum bursts.
On the EP’s second half, ‘Higher Ground‘ delivers the record’s standout moments, combining euphoric piano chords with wistful synths, ‘Desire‘ experiments with fluttering synths and poignant keys, and ‘Wealth‘ closes things out with the breathtaking melodies Brecht has built his reputation on.

The Dynamic ‘Picture’ series is a time capsule that showcases an artist’s current creative output and allows the listener to visualize and understand the artist at a specific point in time. It’s a record with different dancefloor-oriented facets of one producer shaping the imagery that eventually ends up in the listener’s mind. Previous series contributors include the Adana Twins, Tunnelvisions, and Moscoman.
Stuttgart-born Johannes Brecht has built a reputation as a talented newcomer in recent years as a studio and live musician for many German major artists. He’s become a Diynamic mainstay, releasing a slew of EPs on the influential label and collaborating with artists such as Stimming, Christian Prommer, and, most recently, Fetsum.
