Joris Voorn released massive new tune ‘Genova’ on his Green imprint
Underground music maestro, Joris Voorn is back on his imprint with ‘Genova’. The track marks his second release in 2018 as well as the 37th on Green.
The revered and respected Dutch Dj, producer, and label owner, Joris Voorn just released his new record on his own label Green. He’s one of the few that doesn’t need any special introduction; he has been and still is a staple for the cutting edge underground house and techno over the last decade and more.
‘Genova‘ it’s his second record of this year. Not a big number for him but, take in mind he’s working hard building his new studio space near his home in Amsterdam. The studio was finished only a few weeks ago and Joris immediately went to add the finishing touches on his next single. ‘Genova‘ is the result, and it’s been well worth the wait.
A nagging techy beat with a funky undertone drives this infectious track. Monotone synth rhythms subtly rising from the depths to create tense pressure. Moments of teasing intensity increase the drama, before a beautiful arpeggiated melody unfolds and with it brings a sorrowful chord progression. The bass follows in tandem as we head towards a sparse breakdown, it strips things down to the bare minimum. After some more of that juicy groove, an extended ambient outro provides an atmospheric, heavenly ending.
During this summer Joris has released his own record ‘District Seven‘ as well as his remix on Paul Simon’s record ‘Homeless‘. Both records became an instant hits and ‘Genova’ is nothing different.
‘Genova’ has been heavily road-tested by Joris Voorn, featuring in all his sets over the summer. It has received huge reactions whenever played too. It seems like his new studio has added a touch of magic to it, and we can all look forward to much more material coming out very soon. His next studio album should be on its way as well.
