[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A real stalwart of the underground scene, Kompakt Records has always delivered extreme quality music since 1998, and it’s no surprise that the Cologne-based label is home to Kölsch, Dixon, Patrice Baumel and many other high-rated artists.
Kompakt’s famous Speicher collection welcomes three brand new artists to the label, the Italians Enzo Elia & Musumeci, the French trio La Marine, and the Bolivian Animal Print, to deliver the first 3-tracks EP of the sub-label, Speicher 102.
“Gothic Safari” from Enzo Elia & Musumeci opens the way to a jungle made of dreaming synths, dark brasses and, as the title suggests, wild animals’ cries. The second track of Speicher 102 is “Flash” from La Marine, which keeps pursuing the dreamy path of the previous song, adding some very cool vocal glitches to the drum-driven structure. Closing the EP is “The Last Night Of Laura Palmer“, not as unique as the other records, but still a solid addition to every techno or tech-house set thanks to its’ mesmerizing bassline and dark melodies; a deep vocal reciting the famous prayer “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep” completes the dark atmosphere of the track.
