Italian brother and producer duo Mathame have released their brand new single ‘Believe’ in collaboration with Grammy-nominated duo CamelPhat. Mathame and CamelPhat collaborate on the Astralwerks track “Believe” to take listeners on a sweeping melodic techno journey.
‘Believe‘ is the result of months of collaboration between Mathame and CamelPhat and is expertly textured. At eight minutes long, the track’s heavy rhythms evoke emotive tendencies, winding up and culminating in a voluminous drop.
The release of the single coincides with the beginning of Mathame’s “NEW SOUND PROGRAM,” a collection of singles chosen and created by the duo specifically for summer club dance floors and conjuring a sci-fi vibe.
Mathame and their journey
Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli founded Mathame in 2013, and after releasing “Nothing Around You,” “Skywalking,” and “For Every Forever” on Afterlife Records, they quickly gained recognition in the world of melodic techno. The duo then proceeded to release their debut single, “Never Give Up,” in 2020. Pete Tong of BBC Radio 1 named it “The Essential New Tune” that year. Since then, Mathame has received requests to remix songs by well-known musicians like Zhu and Moby, as well as requests for remixes of their own music from artists like Diplo, Lost Frequencies, ZHU, Adriatique, and Vril.
With Cercle, Mathame has performed live on some of the most thrilling stages in the world, including Tomorrowland, Untold Festival, EXIT Festival, EDC Las Vegas, and Reforma 180 Heliport in Mexico City. Taking advantage of Matteo’s experience as an accomplished director and audiovisual artist, the team also created PHOENIX, a multiplatform cinematic project and interactive space. In 2021, Mathame began “Old Neural Mixtape,” a mix series made with an artificial intelligence algorithm in partnership with Apple Music, to further express their passion for technology and science fiction themes.
The track features the dark, melodic synth work that is characteristic of the British electronic duo Mike Di Scala and Dave Whelan. The two, collectively known as CamelPhat, have been active in the deep house and techno scenes since 2004. After a number of releases on labels like Vice, Nervous Records, and Spinnin’ Records, CamelPhat and Elderbrook’s joint song “Cola” was nominated for a Grammy in 2017. Having then went on to drop their highly-anticipated debut album ‘Dark Matter’ in 2020, CamelPhat have remained some of the genre’s most respected production powerhouses.
