Italian duos Maximals and Boothed team up for a two-track EP called ‘Up & Down’ on Nicky Romero’s Protocol.
With the festival season at the gates, Italian duo Maximals and Protocol veterans have teamed up with up-and-comer Boothed for the dual-sided EP ‘Up & Down’. Kicking off with ‘Up’, the EP already set the base for its festival souls. ‘Up’ draws heavily from electro influences with weighty basslines and grimy synths, making for a bass-heavy good time. The mix with the groovy percussions and the bigroom / eletro house vibes pump up the energy of the track making ‘Up’ a truly festival anthem.
From ‘Up’ to ‘Down’, the second track employs bouncy melodies and funky grooves that is sure to be a hit on the dancefloor. The jacked groove of the drop filled with electro elements draws the perfect connection point between a festival anthem and a club weapon.
The ‘Up & Down’ EP marks the sixth release on Nicky’s imprint Protocol by Maximals. It follows ‘Pressure’ with Sam Void, released in fall 2018. The two guys last year have also released on Hardwell’s imprint Revealed ‘headbutt’, a collaboration with Antoine Delvig. Talking about Boothed, they released on Dannic’s Fonk ‘I Only Wanna’ with Dirty Ducks. ‘Up & Down’ EP is their debut on Nicky Romero Protocol that welcomes yet another member on his family.
