Disco and retrowave masters Oliver return with “Inner Circle” EP
Oliver is a producer / DJ duo formed by U-Tern and Oligee, responsible for some of the funkiest, toughest, and most diverse dance music today. They took their shared ’80s baby tastes – relentlessly groovy R&B, boombox worthy hip-hop, soaring electropop hooks – and mashed them together in remixes for everyone from Chromeo and Foster The People to Breakbot and techno godfather Juan Atkins.
Original jams like “All Night” and “Dirty Talk” (supported by dance music luminaries like Alan Braxe and Busy P) took Oliver’sback-to-the-future sound even further, while high-powered collaborations with A-Trak (“Disco Nap”) and Destructo (“LA Funky”) brought the duo to the festival circuit, where they kept hands in the air all summer.
Disco and retrowave masters Oliver returns with an amazing EP called “Inner Circle.”
Now the two guys are back after the release of their debut album “Full Circle” with another outstanding piece of work: the new “Inner Circle: Remixes and Rarities” EP features four new original tracks and three “Full Circle” tracks remixes from Dombrance, Lifelike and Mumbai Science. Oliver style is fully represented in this EP: “Big City” is a beautiful piece of funky disco, while “Bigones” hits hard with the duo’s typical retrowave sound. Talking about the remixes, Lifelike‘s edit of “Last Forever” is the most solid one in the EP, giving the original track a more funky and lo-fi vibe.
