RÜFÜS DU SOL cap off their most ambitious year yet with the release of the live version of Grammy nominated single ‘On My Knees’ captured from their sold out performance at The Gorge Amphitheatre in October. This release acts as a celebration of the band’s double 2023 Grammy nomination of ‘On My Knees’ as Best Dance / Electronic Recording, a category that earned them their first Grammy win earlier this year, and their ‘Surrender’ album for Best Dance / Electronic Album. This comes after the group’s fifth Best Produced Album ARIA won last month.
The band’s touring prowess reached new heights in 2023, with their ‘Surrender’ live show touching the lives of fans globally from The Gorge to the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks to New York’s Forrest Hill, onwards to Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Cologne, and many other European headlining plays. Additionally, RÜFÜS had their own day festival in Gunnersbury Park, London, sell out, and they took over big stages at festivals including the Fest Festival in Poland and the Sziget Festival in Budapest.
The only act in the world that can sell out stadiums and then command the world’s most reputable DJ booths, including Circo Loco at DC-10, Afterlife at Hi Ibiza, and Barcelona’s Brunch in the Park, among many others, was the RÜFÜS DU SOL DJ Set this year.
With a string of performances in Australia and New Zealand, this spectacular year came to a close. Over the previous six weeks, the band was greeted home by sold-out crowds in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
Ready to embark on the next phase of their adventure, RÜFÜS anticipates beginning work on new songs at the beginning of the year before returning to their own boutique festival, Sundream, which will make its premiere at a new venue in May in San José del Cabo, Mexico.
One can only speculate as to what the future holds for the best live electronic act in the world, but if history is any guide, it will be a route ornamented with widespread acclaim and an unwavering commitment to their craft.
