Venue Expands Capacity to 20,000 to Accommodate Demand

RÜFÜS DU SOL, the Grammy-winning live-electronic trio, played the first stop of their North American ‘Surrender tour in Chicago last night, where the venue expanded their capacity to 20,000 due to high demand at The Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.

The presence of their decked-out ‘Surrender‘ Tour truck, which debuted on the streets of Chicago over Memorial Day Weekend, was a first for RÜFÜS DU SOL, and lucky fans found it loaded up with Chicago specific merch and ticket giveaways. This summer, the tour truck will be present at every tour venue, selling merch and other RÜFÜS DU SOL surprises.

The ‘Surrender’ tour is a career highlight for Jon, Tyrone, and James, who have already sold over 180,000 tickets in North America for 2022. RÜFÜS DU SOL’s continued presence as one of the largest touring acts in the live space is demonstrated by sold-out shows at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY (two nights at 13,000), the Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, TX (12,000), The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA (22,000), and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.

The tour, produced by Live Nation, is stopping in 21 cities across North America, with Rose Avenue label-mates Lastlings providing opening support last night. Curtis Harding, Paraleven, WhoMadeWho, and Bora Uzer will also perform on select dates of the tour.
