storgards baltzar von platens version

Storgards adds his touch to Kornél Kovács’ blissful ‘Baltzar’

The Swedish sensation delivers a new emotional break-beat edit

Falun-based DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Oliver Storgards is rapidly building a solid reputation in the scene thanks to his ability in composing emotional, yet minimal, club music. His debut EP on our own Groove Cartel Records, Mono No Aware EP, has obtained wide appreciation and support; Storgards’ music focuses on a thoughtful mix of club-worth attacks and breakdowns filled with euphoric peaks.

After the release of his splendid Lilac two-tracker earlier this summer, which is a perfect sample of his musical style, now the Swedish sensation deploys his Von Platens Version of Kornél Kovács‘ emotional Baltzar, part of his ‘Stockholm Marathon’ album. The Hungaro-Swedish producer is one of the founders of Studio Barnhus, a well respected collective and record label, together with Axel Boman and Pedrodollar.

The original, a dubby, dreamy melodic Deep House tune with Ambient influences, has been transformed into a club-friendly cut thanks to the sapient hands of the young Swede. The only original elements kept are the leading stabbed synth and the vocal: now a break-beat shape gives the track a new, moving energy, and some of his signature melodic synths give it an uplifting mood: Storgards always delivers.
