Swedish House Mafia return to work in the clothing field, this time teaming up with renewed brand ALYX studio. Matthew M. Williams’ 1017 ALYX 9SM has consistently shown a keen focus on fusing fashion and culture since its inception. The brand, which was established in New York City, is now showcasing its love of music by collaborating with the Swedish House Mafia.

By collaborating with the well-known electronic/house music group, the two groups’ distinctively dark aesthetics are combined. The capsule includes a hoodie, T-shirts, and a hat for a casual offering. The pieces combine Swedish House Mafia’s Paradise Again album cover graphics with graphic designs created in a collaboration that includes the Alyx logo and circle A monogram.

The long-sleeved tee is the only piece of the offering that isn’t predominantly black and white in color.

The 1017 ALYX 9SM team is a big fan of the band and collaborating with them brought together the passion for fashion and for music the brand is built on with its unconventional approach to design, making this collaboration a perfect match for a meaningful connection – 1017 ALYX 9SM.

How to buy Swedish House Mafia x ALYX collab?

On Thursday, November 24, the collection goes on sale at 1017 ALYX 9SM and Swedish House Mafia’s websites at a price range of €120 to 160 EUR (about $124 to $166 USD).

This is not the first collaboration that the Swedish House Mafia have with a high-end clothing brand. For their reunion in Miami, Swedish House Mafia teamed up with Virgil Abloah and Palm Angels on costume Nike shoes, hoodies, and t-shirts. The trio also teamed up with IKEA for a whole set of furnitures.

What’s 1017 ALYX 9SM?

The company, which was once known as ALYX, was established in 2015 by Matthew, his then-wife Jennifer, and Luca Benini. Prior to quitting in 2019, Matthew’s ex-wife, Jennifer Murray, oversaw the brand’s international sales. They launched Alyx[12], a women’s wear brand named after their oldest daughter, for Fall/Winter 2015 as a way to share their opinions.

The brand received immediate notice and made the 2016 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers shortlist because of its roots in contemporary culture, positive transformation, and lasting design. Since then, the company has changed its name to 1017 Alyx 9SM (Matthew’s month and year of birth, October 17, the name of his oldest daughter, Alyx, and the New York address of his first fashion studio, 9 St. Mark’s Place), and it has gained a devoted following for a narrowly focused line of clothing that spans men’s, women’s, and accessories and has a very distinct point of view.

Williams quickly started working with well-known companies like Dior, Nike, Moncler, Bang & Olufsen, and Mackintosh through his label 1017 Alyx 9SM.
