After a really short preview published by both Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd on their social, another 10 seconds snipped of the collab between the two artists have surfaced online. The track is planned to be released later this week (likely in Friday), the trio confirms.

It started as a rumor, as always, kindly low-key confirmed during an interview between Swedish House Mafia and Dutch news website, AD, and then officially confirmed with a short video during the MTV VMAs 2021, the trio collaboration with The Weeknd seems day by day ever closer.

Some days ago another piece of the puzzle surface on the internet; posted by Jordi Presa aka @gkltd, a person close to the Swedish trio, on his Instagram stories, the 10 seconds snipped reproduce a small section of the new record, where it’s clear the presence of The Weeknd’s vocal. The tune also features the new Swedish House Mafia’s signature sound, with catchy and radio-friendly percussions.

The short snippet rapidly reposted on Reddit, received great comments from fans around the world with enthusiasts commenting “already stuck in my head” and “I LOVE THIS ALREADY“. Someone even analyzed the lyrics of the snippet that states “like a moth to a flame” explaining that:

The phrase refers to the well-known attraction that moths have to bright lights, which could include those harmless lights, such as the light from flashlights, as well as dangerous ones, such as fire. The phrase was first used to emphasize a type of attraction that might cause someone’s destruction. It indicates that sometimes things that seem familiar and irresistibly inviting might hurt you. There is a reference to this phrase in Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice”, 1596: Thus hath the candle singed the moth. O these deliberate fools! When they do choose, They have the wisdom by their wit to lose.

Even if a release date is not yet certain, Swedish House Mafia announced that a new album was coming at the end of 2021 so, we can expect the collaboration to be released no later than this year. The Swedish trio is also set to play for the first time since the start of the pandemic, this December at Audacy Beach Festival.
