The debut single by RVDIOVCTIVE founder Devon James in 2023 is titled “Risky Business“; it is a dreamy, mid-tempo 4/4 cut featuring a standout vocal performance from Hundreds Thousands.
James’ latest single Risky Business showcases a different aspect of his production than the one that first made him famous. It is a lovely, melodic, mid-tempo cut that blurs the lines between house and electronica. Hazy and deeply atmospheric with evocative vocals courtesy of Hundreds Thousands – the solo project of Zach Britt – Risky Business is a beautiful, calming entry point in to the new year.
It is not surprising that Devon is currently one of the most prominent and well-known figures in the underground dance music industry. Devon was born in Boston to a family with a strong tradition of music that defies the mainstream.
James has played in support of legendary artists such as Kerri Chandler, Moodymann, Derrick Carter, and Kevin Saunderson thanks to his undeniable style, his increasingly impressive DJ skills, and his eclectic track selection. James’s debut studio album is anticipated to be released in 2023, following his A&Ring and track contributions to four different artists’ RVDIOVCTIVE collections in 2022.
