Josh Richards returns on Flow Music with ‘Tranquil’

Australian artist Josh Richards debuted on Flow Music with his first-ever release and he is returning with a spine-tingling follow-up, Tranquil. His first release on the imprint was orientated around melodic house/techno, but this latest offering shows the deeper and more organic side to his sound.

Melodic house icon Anthony Pappa, an Australian musician best known for his compilation mixes for companies like Global Underground and Renaissance, is in charge of the remixes. Additionally, he has created music for record labels like John Digweed’s Bedrock. Jamie Stevens is a fellow Australian who has previously collaborated with Anthony Pappa to produce tracks for imprints such as Dave Seaman’s Selador.

Additionally, he has released music on labels with a lot of clouts, such as Guy J’s Lost & Found and Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream.

The original mix of “Tranquil,” which has swaying percussion and a delicate steel drum melody that reverberates warmth throughout the tracks, serves as the release’s opening track. The track’s uplifting pads and ethereal vocals give it a calming vibe.

As it progresses, the remix by Anthony Pappa and Jamie Stevens quickens the pace and beefs up the drums to gradually incorporate the melodic elements of the original. The epic breakdown holds mesmerizing suspense before plunging back into the moody atmosphere and tribal energy of the percussive sections.
