LANDR is announcing a new service for labels, music producers, and artists to complement its existing offerings. They can now have tracks up mastered, which is LANDR’s proprietary method of converting stereo audio to Atmos™. They have the option of using a partially automated method that is guided by an audio professional. They can also work with one of the LANDR Network’s skilled professional engineers to create more nuanced custom mixes.

Daniel Rowland, producer/engineer of Oscar-winning, Grammy-nominated projects and LANDR’s Head of Strategy, and Matt Guiler, renowned Atmos film trailer mixer of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Venom, Jumanji, and numerous other immersive mixes for Apple, Sony, Paramount, Netflix, Disney, Warner, and Amazon, worked together to create LANDR Upmastering.

LANDR and this new collaboration with Atmos™.

Major music services like Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon Music now offer Atmos™ versions of new releases and catalog favorites, which can be enjoyed on hundreds of popular devices like AirPods Pro and Sonos speakers.

“Atmos™ is quickly becoming a standard format that is in high demand. Once it became clear that Atmos™ would likely be a necessary step in the creation process for many, we wanted to offer it as soon as possible. We’re solving the problem of access and affordability for those who need Atmos™ versions for an entire catalog or for their new EP. – Pascal Pilon, CEO of LANDR

Labels and creators can have their mastered stereo tracks rendered into the Atmos™ format for $100 per track (with a special launch offer of $75 for the month of October). This will give more creators access to Atmos™ and increase the amount of content available in this new format.

While this partially automated process will turn stereo into deep, immersive tracks, LANDR will also cater to those looking for something more specific and tailored. Studios such as Amsterdam-based Future Phonic Studios, the preferred provider of native Dolby Atmos™ mixing, will make sure the drums are in just the right position in space, for example, or that the vocals move past the listener just so.
