Italian Hiver return to Gudu Records with ’Dream Universe’

The Italian duo is back on Peggy Gou legendary label with their unique take on electro and machine funk

Dream Universe, a new four-track EP by Italian duo Hiver, is the next release on Peggy Gou‘s Gudu Records label. Hiver’s anticipated return to the imprint follows their recent song of the same name and a Mixmag premiere of “Higher Space.”

Giuseppe Albrizio and Sergio Caio, based in Milan, have spent the last decade perfecting a unique take on electro and machine funk, propelled by the duo’s signature basslines, glossy strings that drip with passion, and an overall utopian tone.

They pack more energy and emotion into their music than ever before on Dream Universe, a “tribute to early ’90s house and trance” built around trance elements, acid bass, and Detroit-inspired rhythms made on iconic synthesizers like the Alpha Juno, Juno 106, and the Roland 303, 909, and D-550, from the high-emotional vocal that defines the EP’s title track to the raw bass hits that drive ‘Lodash.

Hiver’s sound is now so unique that you recognize one of their tracks the moment you hear it, but Dream Universe feels like the pinnacle of their work to date; a duo in perfect command of their craft.

Gudu’s 2023 has already seen releases from Special Request & Novelist, Mogwaa, Matisa, Matrefakt, and DMX Krew, as well as the first entry in Gudu & Friends – a new annual compilation series that introduced Salamanda, Closet Yi, Lady Blacktronika, and others.

On November 8, Gudu Records will release ‘Dream Universe‘ on digital download and vinyl. The title track from the EP is now available for streaming in all shops.
