Dom Dolla returned to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Colorado) for two nights in a row on April 1 and 2, selling over 18,000 tickets, putting on a top-notch show, and setting the tone for the start of the 2023 Red Rocks season.
A 50-acre wildfire and 100 mph winds forced several residents in Morrison, Denver, to evacuate, perhaps postponing the eagerly awaited Red Rocks opening weekend. An amusing contrast to the event from the previous year, when Dom performed outside in a snowstorm. The programs continued because of the efforts of the Denver Fire Department, the neighborhood, and a dedicated and tenacious production team.
Dom kicked off the 2023 edition by introducing a who’s who of tastemakers, including Torren Foot, Option 4, Ladies of Leisure, and Patrick Topping. Patrick Topping and LF System made their Red Rocks debuts during the concert. Fans flocked to the arena as soon as the doors opened to celebrate the start of the season, and the night was sold out. Dom flew his mother to Denver to complete the family gathering (this was her first trip back to the US in 30 years), and she made an on-screen appearance to thunderous applause from the audience.
The Denver Gothic Theatre’s sold-out afterparty for Night 1 came next. Dom Dolla and Patrick Topping unexpectedly collaborated for 1.5 hours as the show’s finale, capping up the performance. The phrase “Topp Dolla” has been unofficially coined by the audience.
On night two, Dom gave the audience a special experience by backing it up with a brand-new set and updated show visuals. It is undeniable that Dom Dolla is on the rise, and this weekend’s combined 18,000 tickets over two nights, together with top-notch production, confirm Dom as one of the leading dance performers in the US.
