He earned his stripes during the course of his decade-long career as an electronic music producer working alongside heavyweights such as Henrik Schwarz and Solomun by prioritizing freedom over any style, structure, or plan. His career spanned both the United States and Europe. Without a doubt, Brecht’s music has been lauded most of all for its ability to deliver a breath of new air to a scene that is so often directed by trends. His compositions are elegant, and they are expertly performed.
Brecht is a musician who has his roots in jazz music. In Stuttgart, where he was born, he was raised in a musical household. He began his musical training very young, learning to play the piano and double bass. He came to terms with his identity as a musician through the medium of jazz, which remains a significant influence on his work even today. “I’m still involved with jazz bands. He says, “I enjoy the freedom and improvisation, and being able to feel the moment.”
His initial journey into the realm of electronic music came about as a result of a partnership with Henrik Schwarz, a veteran of the German deep house scene. In 2013, he released his first EP on Schwarz’s label. Since that time, there has not been a discernible shift in Brecht’s development. In 2015, he became a member of the Diynamic family, and ever since then, every release that he has made has been greeted with surprise and enthusiasm by musicians as well as listeners.
