Ultra Music Festival Miami is in a week. It’s time to plan your festival journey, starting with how to reach the festival. Are you going to take your car? A shared ride with Uber or with a Taxi? Why not use the public transport?

There are several options on how to reach Ultra Music Festival but not all will let you avoid the traffic rush. Let’s have a look at the best way to reach the festival.

Metrorail and Metromover

The Metrorail (also known as “The Metro”) and the Metromover both connect Downtown Miami to other parts of the city. They are part of the city’s public transport system. The Orange line of Metrorail goes from the Dadeland area to Miami International Airport in the north. The Green Line, on the other hand, starts in the north at Palmetto and makes its way down to Dadeland.

Metromover is a free-to-ride automated people mover system. Metromover services 21 stations from the Financial District Station in Brickell to the School Board Station in the Omni area.

Most of the routes covered by the Metrobus and Metrorail cost around $ 2.25 each way, while the Metromover is free for everyone.

Both Metrorail and Metromover will stay open for 2 hours after the end of Ultra Music Festival. This will let you come back to your home or hotel avoiding the traffic rush. You won’t even need to find a parking lot to leave your car.

Our experience, staying in Miami during the Ultra Music Festival, was that both Metrorail and Metromover have been the best choices while moving to Ultra Music Festival avoiding the traffic rush.

Brightline

Brightline is an inter-city rail route in the United States that runs between Miami and Orlando, Florida. Catch a train from Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura to Miami Central Station. From there you could take the MetroRail and MetroMover to Bayfront Park. You could also enjoy a 20-minute walk in Downtown Miami.

Night trains are also available for the return travel. Ultra Music Festival is offering a 15% discount using the code ULTRA15 while buying your tickets.

For instance, a one-way ticket from Orlando to Miami is just $ 59.

Tri Rail

Tri Rail is a commuter rail service linking Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach in Florida, United States.

You’ll be able to travel from/to West Palm Beach and Ultra Music Festival for as low as $ 17.50 round-trip.

Night trains will depart 1 hour after the festival ends each day.

Taxi/Uber

If you’re staying in Miami Beach, having to jump in a car could be your only option. We strongly suggest you avoid going in your own car to avoid the traffic rush and high fees for parking.

Taxi and/or Uber could be the only option in this case but be ready, especially when the festival ends each day. With a huge amount of people trying to return home and the amount of requests to Taxi and Uber, the wait time and fees could be very high. Take in mind that cellular networks could get some issues as well.

By car

Even if we highly suggest avoiding coming with your own car, we understand sometimes this is the only option available. To avoid the traffic rush we suggest finding parking outside the Miami Downtown area, both because the high fee during Ultra Music Festival and because the traffic jams you’ll experience during arrival and departure.

An option could be to find parking around the Miami International Airport and then take the Metrorail and Metromover to reach Bayfront Park.

Brickell could also be a possibility with a parking fee of around $ 35 per day. From there, the free Metromover will bring you to Bayfront Park and back.
