ROTATE VOL. 12 is the latest compilation from Insomniac‘s IN/ROTATION label, showcasing 12 forward-thinking tracks from underground artists pushing bass house, tech house, breaks and techno into new territories. A cutting-edge ride through dance music’s cutting edge.

ROTATE VOL. 12 is an absolutely wild ride from start to finish. As soon as I pressed play, I was instantly hooked. POLOVICH‘s groovy basslines on “Jump In” had me nodding my head heavily right off the bat. Such an infectious, club-ready vibe to kick things off perfectly. Birthdayy Partyy, Basura Boyz, and MAMBA wasted no time keeping that high-octane energy going strong with the absolute heater “Don’t Talk.” I couldn’t stay still.

But just when I thought I had the tone set, the tempo switched up with wes pierce’s “ZULU.” That laidback, dreamy breaks intro was smooth as silk – a welcome deep breath. Then bam! That absolutely monstrous drop came crashing through and floored me. Dunes of Dawn and Dilon Karim clearly weren’t messing around either on “Dimension.” A full-throttle, rapid-fire techno assault that barely gave me time to catch my breath.

Thankfully, REDTAPE‘s “Dice” provided some much-needed relief with those intoxicating Latin rhythms and grooves. The perfect palette cleanser to cool down before inevitably ramping back up again into frantic dancefloor modes. Every single track offered something fresh, boundary-pushing, and wildly exciting. ROTATE VOL. 12 doesn’t let up for a second.

The consistently cutting-edge, high-caliber sounds had me absolutely glued until the very last bone-rattling bass hit. IN/ROTATION has outdone itself again with a killer compilation that’s an adrenaline rush from front to back. Hearing undefined underground talent push genres forward is made easy.
