Zola Blood, an electronic three-piece, has announced the release of their long-awaited second album Black Blossom, as well as a new single titled “For The Birds,” which will be released on February 24th.

For The Birds,’ an affecting, emotion-driven dose of electronica, combines glistening synths, restrained breakdowns, and heartfelt vocals, and unfolds delicately over four and a half minutes.

It follows their first single in two years, ‘It Never Goes,’ released last month, with both tracks set to appear on Black Blossom. Out on the 1st of April, the LP is an exploration into the pitfalls of the internet – more specifically how social media has become “hugely polarising” and transformed the way we communicate with each other.

Zola Blood have amassed a devoted following in recent years, having toured with Rufus du Sol, collaborated with Claptone, and performed at festivals all over Europe. They released two early EPs before releasing their debut album Infinite Games in 2017, which was praised for its “delicacy and dark beauty” and found a middle ground between techno and dream pop influences. Their latest release was the ‘Two Hearts’ EP back in 2020, the lead single of which was featured in the 2021 series of Gossip Girl.

For The Birds,’ Zola Blood’s second single in as many weeks, adds to the excitement surrounding the release of their upcoming album.
