The Lightning in a Bottle community hasn’t gotten together in nearly two years to co-create their favorite experience of the year. While they may be physically separated, the Do LaB crew’s innovative spirit and its wide-ranging audience have given way to a new virtual faction of festival-goers. Today, Do LaB continues this new tradition by announcing the lineup for DGTL LIB 2, which will take place Memorial Day Weekend, May 29-30. Fans can expect all of the musical curation, mischief and quirkiness, cause-driven education, and wellness offerings that made the digital debut in 2020 such a standout virtual experience.
The release of tickets for Lightning in a Bottle 2022, which will reclaim Memorial Day Weekend for what will undoubtedly be a surreal physical reunion for its community, comes at a pivotal time for North American music. https://www.libfestival.org/ is having a Lightning Sale for the 2022 event, which will take place from May 25 to June 1.
Do LaB DGTL LIB 2 program
This year’s DGTL edition includes a taste of the LIB’s musical programming, which has a long history of being eclectic. North American electronic pioneer MOBY, globetrotting house and techno icon Seth Troxler, genre-defying duo SOFI TUKKER, and superstar vocalist and dj ALUNA are among the headliners. Purple Disco Machine, Patrice Baumel, Mikey Lion, WhoMadeWho, Sango, The Polish Ambassador, TSHA, Tor, HOLLY, The Librarian, Desert Dwellers, and others are among the acts on the bill, demonstrating how LiB has always brought together different styles.
Not only will performers curate one-of-a-kind sets for guests to enjoy, but artists such as MOBY, Desert Dwellers, Megan Hamilton, and Mikey Lion will perform in favorite LIB stages that Vita Motus Design Studio has recreated as digital environments to create a fully immersive experience. There will be something for everyone, from the colorful tendrils of the Woogie to the striking bass-heavy temple of The Stacks. All elements of a real production, including set design, lighting design, and video mapped content, are able to seamlessly integrate and bring an engaging broadcast to life from various remote locations using Unreal Engine technology and leveraging live production expertise.
Workshops and more
Following the Opening Ceremonies, digital attendees can expect all of The Compass’s immersive workshops and surprises. The event’s signature education haven will feature movement programming such as AyresNouveau’s Rise & Shine Vinyasa Yoga, Jai Dev’s The Mighty Wave of Change – A Kundalini Yoga Experience, Christian Bluford’s Thunder Before The Lightning -Stretch and Recover, and Nicolea Pettis’ Samba Dance. Seaweed-Shitake Mineral Broth with Steph Zhu and Praise Cheezus! with Chef Perla will have foodies glued to their screens. Those who want to delve a little deeper can enroll in Jenny Mohr’s Sexuality & Socialization: Deshamifying Your Turn-Ons course, a presentation on the future and present of psychedelics with MAPS, and more.
Do LaB will welcome live painter Benidigital to the event and will collaborate with Modern.com to sell the original works as an NFT after the show, immortalizing the weekend as a work of digital art for one lucky collector.
