Davide Pretelli drops 2020 5-track debut EP ‘How To See Beauty’

The EP is a mix of multiple music genres, from ambient to lo-fi house with cinematic elements and minimal and techno percussive lines.

Italian DJ and producer Davide Pretelli showcase his first EP in 2020 in the form of How To See Beauty, a 5-track collection that tells us Pretelli’s vision of electronic music.

How To See Beauty can be easily considered the initiation of the electronic music world. The EP is a mix of multiple music genres, from ambient to lo-fi house with cinematic elements and minimal and techno percussive lines. Davide Pretelli has thought out-of-the-box with this EP, delivering a unique collection of tune that works on both underground clubs or when you just need some time to relax and slow down the time.

Kicking off with Youthe EP opening track introduces a soft and intimate piano melody embraced by magical and distant jingle. A minimal beat and a very wide but delicate and faithful baseline create the detachment between what we can refer to as a drop and the breakdown. In the second part, a hypnotic arpeggio makes its way through the cinematic lines creating enchanting vibes.

Left Headphone Not Working is the second tune of the EP; it features a completely different sound and plant compared to the previous one. The long lines are still audible in the background but the intimate and delicate melodic lines are replaced by a fast and wild beat. If You was the perfect tune at the end of a stressful day, we can clearly hear Left Headphone Not Working being played on a packed dancefloor on Saturday night.

Next one can be confused by some sort of code; 010519 is a one minute piano clip that marks the turning point for the EP.

Second last, What Is Not Supposed to Happen Always Will kicks off with a very slow and dragged sound, where the downtempo beat set the ryhtyhm. Again, soothing and hypnotic sound elements are the masters of the tune creating a deep, dark, and mysterious feeling.

Last but not least, Davide Pretelli closes How To See Beauty EP with Wather’s ThemeFeaturing a spoken vocal and a catchy ryhtyhm, the track introduces glitched melodies that still keep the refined and sensitive vibes of the first tunes.

Davide Pretelli’s How To See Beauty is definitely a gem into a sea banality where songs sound all the same. Check the full EP below.
