Watch Michael Canitrot live DJ set at The Eiffel Tower

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Gustave Eiffel‘s death, French DJ and producer Michael Canitrot, who created the Monumental Tour project, played live at the Eiffel Tower on December 27, 2023. The stream was shown on French TV and social media.

The Monumental Tour idea is a tour that combines electronic music, heritage, and digital art through stunning visual concerts. These concerts build bridges between the past and the present to give us a new perspective on our landmarks. Its goal is to make electronic music more accessible by putting it on display in unusual places. This project has been praised by the Institut de France and the French National Commission for UNESCO. It has also been praised at important heritage places like the Palais Royal and the Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel.

After five “sold-out” shows on his Monumental Tour, including one at Place Stanislas in Nancy, France, in front of more than 22,000 people, and the project’s first date in Italy at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, in front of more than 10,000 people, Michael Canitrot ended 2023 with this one-of-a-kind show in the middle of the Eiffel Tower.

At this amazing show, Michael Canitrot played a beautiful DJ set that mixed rhythmic techno and progressive house. He talked about his new song “CHANGE,” which he made with the legendary house music producer Roland Clark. It came out on December 15 along with the album “CYCLE.”

The Eiffel Tower had a beautiful lighting show, and guest artists like the “Spectre” choir, mezzo-soprano singer Yana Mann, contemporary dancer Abblaye Diop who loves electronic music, and pianist Yann Dulché who mixes electronic beats with classical notes performed. The voice of Gustave Eiffel was lent by the award-winning French actor Philippe Torreton, who gave a moving performance that led the audience through this audiovisual journey.

The bravery and creativity of Gustave Eiffel are honored by this one-of-a-kind work that gives the monument a new look. The show was shown on the French TV station CSTAR on December 27, 2023, which was the anniversary of Gustave Eiffel’s death.

The Monumental Tour, led by DJ Michael Canitrot, blends electronic music, heritage, and digital art. Commemorating Gustave Eiffel’s centenary death, the project transforms iconic landmarks, like the Eiffel Tower, into immersive audiovisual experiences, celebrating creativity and paying homage to architectural brilliance.
