Monocule and Marcus Santoro team up for “Only For The Night”
Monocule, Nicky Romero
Nicky Romero is back in 2023 as his alter ego Monocule with “Only For The Night,” for which he teamed up with Protocol’s Australian veteran Marcus Santoro and startup artist duo Higher Lane. With ethereal female vocals that begin the song and a gradual build-up to a deep, groovy drop with a rolling bassline and progressive melodies, the new song seamlessly blends into Monocule’s underground image.
“Only For The Night” pairs nicely with tropical surroundings, strong cocktails, sexy strangers, and dark dance floors, so look out for it in Nicky Romero’s and Protocol artists’ forthcoming festival, club sets, and on the radio airwaves. Following Monocule’s “Stargazing” with Leo Stannard, “Only For The Night” is a strong first release of the new year.
After remixing Nicky Romero’s “My Way” for Protocol Recordings in 2019, Marcus Santoro released “Shine,” a tune he worked on with Sentinel.
Marcus Santoro, a native of Melbourne, has long promoted the sounds of the progressive house genre, engrossing listeners to the core. Breaking millions across Spotify on highlight playlists including ‘mint’ and ‘Night Rider’, Santoro has attained the nod of approval from legendary acts such as Axwell (Swedish House Mafia), Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, signing some of Australia’s most accomplished electronic cornerstone pieces to the likes of Axtone, Protocol Recordings and Armada Music.
A fresh decade welcomes upcoming releases on Protocol Recordings and Axtone Records, with a highlight remix for Joel Corry, while Marcus Santoro’s weekly radio show and podcast Louder Together (Marcus Santoro – Louder Together) continues to take progressive house devotees to new places, following an epic guest mix on Diplo’s Revolution. Marcus Santoro, a producer DJ from the southern tip of the earth with pure, iconic taste in his world, masterfully occupies a well-attained position as one of the most promising producer DJs in the world.
