As usual, Nicky Romero has some huge news to share with his fans this month. The head of Protocol Records is gearing up for one of the most significant performances of his career in addition to having a brand-new track out. To bridge the gap between electronic music and pop sounds, Nicky teams up with Norwegian pop duo Nico & Vinz for their release “Forever,” a soulful gem that we have already heard on the occasion of his previous releases like “I Hope That It Hurts” with Norma Jean Martine, “Why Do I Call,” and “Nights With You.”
In the beginning, “Forever” glides on organic melodies that build into a slowly undulating bassline, creating a pleasant and uplifting song that will dwell rent-free in your head. The song opens with expressive vocals on top of a goosebump-inducing choral harmony. The song was first performed live by Nico & Vinz during Nicky Romero’s “10 Years Of Protocol” anniversary showcase at the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2022. It was also recently performed live twice at the “Don’t Let Daddy Know” festival and once on Dutch national television. The chart-topping first hit from Nico & Vinz, “Am I Wrong,” has over 800 million views on Spotify alone, and Nicky just dropped his tune “Turn Off the Lights” to start the year 2023.
Nicky Romero presents his first brand new solo show: Nightvision
Together with the release of his new song, Nicky has also just revealed plans for his debut solo performance, “Nightvision,” which will take place on December 2nd at the 6000-person AFAS Live in Amsterdam (formerly known as Heineken Music Hall). An epic open-to-close set will highlight the multifaceted artist’s illustrious career and take audience members on a true musical trip from his early anthems to his most recent songs. It will also feature sounds from some of his best sets from recent years that he performed across the world.
With so many all-star collaborations under his credit, we can only speculate as to who they might be. In true Nicky flair, he will also be bringing out a few very special guests throughout the night.
