33 Below releases track ‘PROTECTA’ and announces PUSHER EP
The Kiwi-born producer continues to evolve his emotionally resonant electronic sound ahead of his sophomore EP
Kiwi producer 33 Below has the uncommon ability to create a track that is equally appropriate for introspective listening as it is for peak-time dance play.
While largely influenced by UK Garage and ecstatic breakbeats, he is also known for incorporating intricate melodies and textures into his music to produce a pop-tinged electronic sound that appeals to a global audience.
In 2023, 33 Below will evolve his mixed-genre style with the release of his emotionally resonant offering ‘PROTECTA‘ on September 29th via TH3RD BRAIN Records.
The rising young DJ/Producer has recently accomplished some important milestones, like backing Fred Again on his first live event in New Zealand earlier this year, a true tribute to his star qualities.
The single ‘PROTECTA’ will be followed by the release of his sophomore EP PUSHER, which was put together across different countries with the assistance of some highly regarded artists like as RL Grime and Duskus.
Dance music will always be about the future and the cutting edge, but as 33 Below points out, the genre is at its best when it recalls the past in a fresh, new way. “‘PROTECTA’ was influenced by EDM in early 2010. I employed large synths and melodic chords, as well as the new UK garage and house sound that is spreading over.”
Not only has 33 Below performed as a support act for Fred Again, but he has also sold out headline events in New Zealand and London, broadening his fanbase with his unique and hard-hitting live performances.
He’ll be joining RL Grime on his 18-date US tour soon, before going to New Zealand for a summer festival run that includes a performance at Hidden Valley. The star was also just signed to Wasserman for North American bookings. 33 Below’s in-depth understanding of how to build tension and release in a record translates into a sound that is not just danceable but also emotionally resonant in front of a live audience.
