Pongo’s new ‘Believe EP’ on the esteemed UPPERGROUND imprint is one of those game-changing records that makes you feel alive.

The Italian duo of brothers Giovanni and Daniele Bruni have been on my radar ever since their earth-shattering single “Lose My Mind” got the legendary ARTBAT remix treatment back in 2018. That track was a moment – a fusion of techno, electro, and soulful groove that floored everyone who heard it. It rocked clubs and festivals across the globe and laid the blueprint for Pongo’s unique, boundary-pushing sound.

Fast forward to 2024 and these Italian brothers are still relentlessly innovating and evolving. With the ‘Believe EP‘ they’ve raised the bar yet again, delivering a masterpiece of forward-thinking electronic music. From the moment the first haunting synths of the title track “Believe” creep in, you know you’re in for a transcendent journey.

Believe” is a techno leviathan – a heaving, undulating beast carried by an insane groove and mind-bending production tricks. When that vocal line “We Believe In The Future” hits, it’s like a shot of pure adrenaline to the soul. I can already picture the scenes when this monster gets unleashed on dancefloors worldwide. Sweat-drenched revelers losing themselves to the groove as lasers pierce the air – it’s going to be Biblical.

Talking about dancefloor devastation, let’s discuss “Rotowash.” This is arguably the EP’s most dangerous track. A hypnotic, trance-inducing descent into machine-driven psychedelia carried by the sickest modular synth work you’ve ever heard. The sound design on this is just phenomenal – every bar is persecuted by weird, jarring tones that make your brain short-circuit in the best way possible. “Rotowash” is a mind-melter extraordinaire.

With this ‘Believe’ EP, Pongo have cemented themselves as true sonic innovators and masters of forward-thinking dance music. Their ability to blend genres, incorporate soul and emotion, and most importantly, Impact dancefloors is second to none. This is the type of EP that will be massively influencing producers for years to come.
