Shubostar & Terr’s ‘Brave New World’ on DGTL

As someone obsessed with the outer edges of electronic music, I’ve been eagerly awaiting new music from Shubostar ever since her last cosmic disco odyssey melted minds a few years back. So when I heard the South Korean maverick was teaming up with the enigmatic Terr for a collaborative release on DGTL Records, it immediately soared to the top of my must-listen list.

My anticipation only grew after reading the description of ‘Brave New World‘ as “a cosmic journey, where Terr’s raw vocals seamlessly blend with Shubostar’s melodies, offering an unparalleled auditory experience.” Lofty words, but words I expected to be backed up given the incredible artistic talent involved.

And I’m happy to report that ‘Brave New World‘ is every bit as transcendent as promised. From the mesmerizing opening arpeggios to Terr’s goosebump-inducing vocal howls, the whole thing just pulls you in from the jump. By the time the punchy kick drum enters the foray, you’re already light years away being guided through a truly courageous psychedelic cosmos.

What I love most is how Shubostar’s knack for crafting stunningly lush sonic landscapes wonderfully complements Terr’s more rawly emotive atmospheric textures. It’s a yin-and-yang,beauty-and-beast kind of symbiosis that resolves in a strangely sublime way. Melodic yet abrasive, and cerebral but visceral, ‘Brave New World‘ is a masterwork of contrasts and contradictions that sounds utterly new yet still carries an ancient spiritual wisdom.

So if you’re looking to get sonically levitated to another plane of existence, join the cosmic pilgrimage and let Shubostar & Terr be your spirit guides. An extraordinary expedition awaits on the other side.
