Dutch visionary Don Pepijn Schipper, aka Don Diablo, is set to make history as he prepares to drop the world’s first full-length concert NFT (what’s an NFT?). The follow-up to his sensational Genesis NFT, ‘Destination Hexagonia’ will be auctioned on the prestigious digital art site SuperRare on Friday, April 9th.
Don, who is known for his futuristic style and extremely avant-garde vision, burst onto the crypto-art scene last month with the release of his GNSIS NFT. The Dutch artist’s musical holographic crypto-art piece, which formed a fusion between the physical and digital art worlds unlike anything seen before, sold for 110 Ξ (200,000 USD) – one of the highest debut prices for a one-of-one NFT art piece debut.
Don Diablo’s sophomore piece would undoubtedly shake the digital art world once more, guided by his relentless ability to push artistic limits. Don’s breathtaking feature-length concert has been a labor of love for him for over a year. Don, a self-proclaimed major sci-fi fan, decided to merge his love for filmography and films like Star Wars and 2001: A Space Odyssey with his promising career as a musician for his next venture. Don chose up-and-coming videographer Paul Snijder to work alongside him to bring the phenomenal project to life, demonstrating his dedication to cultivating new talent through all of his platforms.
About the ‘Destination Hexagonia’ NFT
Don Diablo has taken his idea to the next level, creating a beautiful sci-fi animated live piece that seamlessly fuses his roles as a filmmaker, musician, and world-renowned DJ. The one-of-a-kind piece will be auctioned off on SuperRare, with the winning bidder taking home a one-hour exclusive NFT experience as well as a piece of crypto-art history. Don has included a nostalgic aspect in his futuristic piece, similar to his Genesis NFT. The HEXAGON Foundation
A large portion of the proceeds from the sale of ‘Destination Hexagonia’ will go to the HEXAGON Foundation, which Don Diablo established to assist artists in the NFT space, as part of his promise to give back to the NFT community. Artists will be able to apply for assistance with anything they need to make, share, and sell their work through the foundation.
Don’s new release, a visual reminder of his desire to change the cultural space he inhabits, is a visual reminder of his desire to push the limits. The hour-long film is a significant departure from the short-form pieces that have previously dominated the NFT landscape. “Hopefully, this would motivate others to work harder and dream bigger.”
