Debut edition of Ultra Abu Dhabi 2020 has been canceled

"The local organizers of Ultra Abu Dhabi have canceled the upcoming event. Tickets will be refunded through the original point of purchase."

With a short statement, Ultra has announced that Ultra Abu Dhabi 2020 has been canceled.

2020 should be the debut for Ultra in the United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi. The festival that should have to unfold the 5th and 6th of March 2020 at the Du Arena has been canceled because of a decision of the local organization (despite Miami, which is organized and managed directly by Ultra, the other Ultra branded event worldwide are subcontracted to external organizations).

The local organizers of Ultra Abu Dhabi have canceled the upcoming event. Tickets will be refunded through the original point of purchase.

No information has been released on the motivations that have led to the decision. The more likely explanation is because of the spread of the new Covid-19 Coronavirus that has also started to infect people in Europe and the USA. Such music events attract thousands of people from around the world and it would have been impossible to guarantee the safety of the people at the festival. UAE has also limited travel from the countries most affected by the Coronavirus.

Ultra Abu Dhabi is not the first festival to be canceled because of the spreading of the new Coronavirus. Some days ago the Japanese debut edition of the Daydream Festival has been canceled for the same reason.

Abu Dhabi edition of Ultra would have host Alesso, Cirez D, DJ Snake, Eric Prydz, Nicky Romero, Zedd and tons more. We hope to see a new edition in 2021 with better circumstances.
